Firstring: a brand for an AI receptionist that picks up on the first ring and books the chair
Book a call, get a price rangeFirstring is an AI voice agent for clinic groups with dozens of locations: it answers every call on the first ring and books a real open chair in the practice's own schedule while the patient is still on the line. We built it from scratch: the name, a paper-cutout world in one green, a hand-lettered wordmark and its fi mark, the live call screen, the ops wall and the brand in the clinic.

The problem and the brief
AI receptionists for clinics all promise "every call". Not one shows a call answered and a chair booked on the first screen.
Firstring is an AI voice agent for dental, dermatology and physio groups with dozens of locations. It answers every call to every location on the first ring and books a real open chair in the practice's own schedule while the patient is still on the line. Only the calls that need a person go to staff. Its buyer is the COO or VP of operations of a 20 to 200 location group.
The brief, in a founder's words: "We really do book into the practice's own schedule while the patient is on the line, but our first screen shows a sound wave and the words 'AI receptionist', so a COO can't tell us from the next one."

Three doubts a clinic group brings to the first call
- Practice manager
It will double-book chairs or break our schedule.
- COO
We pay for marketing, then nobody answers the phone.
- COO
Another call center that only takes messages.
The strategy: show the pickup and the booked chair
Every screen follows real calls: picked up, offered a real slot, booked into the day. The paper-cutout world says it without words: one green field, a handset lifted, every chair filled.
- Doubt 1 · Our schedule?
It will double-book chairs or break our schedule.
A real open chair, held then pinned
On the live call, the slots come from the practice's own day: Firstring offers 9:40 with Dr. Okafor or 2:30, holds the slip askew while the patient decides, then presses it flat into "Booked Wed 14 Oct, 9:40". The day strip goes from 9 of 12 booked to 10.
The practice manager's doubt is the schedule itself, so the screen shows the schedule changing, slot by slot.
- Doubt 2 · Nobody answers?
We pay for marketing, then nobody answers the phone.
Every location, on one wall
The ops wall shows the group's 34 locations as columns of call slips: booked, handed to staff, answered and closed, on the line now. The headline is the whole promise in one line: 1,912 calls today, all answered on ring 1.
31% of 11.5 million calls to dental and DSO locations hung up before reaching anyone.

- Doubt 3 · Just messages?
Another call center that only takes messages.
Only the calls that need a person
Calls Firstring can't finish arrive on staff phones as a slip with a folded corner: who called, what they need in one line, and a button to call back or play the call. Everything else is booked or closed.
59.3% of DSO dentists name staffing as a top challenge. The front desk gets the calls that need it, not all of them.

The design system
One answer green for the field, ink for type, paper white for every slip. No fourth colour: the brand is the green.
- Answer green #27C46BThe field: most of every frame
- Ink #121512Type, handsets, the mark
- Paper white #F4F5F0Slips, cards, booked calls
- Shadow green #157A43Cutout shadows and depth
The world. Paper cutouts on one green field: a handset lifted on the first ring, call slips pinned into a day, chairs in a row, all filled.
Wordmark and mark. Hand-lettered and traced as drawn. The mark is the fi, always on paper or ink, never alone on green.
Type. Young Serif for the calls and headlines, Hanken Grotesk for everything else.
What we left out. All 10 competitors put the promise where the call should be, 8 pair a small glyph with a plain sans, 5 use a stock photo of a person and 5 use blue. None uses a strong green.

The category audit
We scored 10 funded AI voice agents for dental and healthcare practices on our startup homepage benchmark. Not one shows a call answered and booked on the first screen.
Each homepage was scored on 12 criteria, 0 to 2 each, at 1440 and 390 pixels wide. The group averages 16.2 out of 24, above the 14.1 of our wider benchmark: they're clear and well proven, and they say the same thing.
None states a specific difference on the first screen, 2 show the product at both widths, and only 1 speaks to groups with many locations. 6 promise "every call" in words. Those are the gaps Firstring's homepage is designed to close.
