This Privacy Policy explains how Alterra Studio LLC (“Alterra Studio“, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website alterra.studio, related pages, and our design and development services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways:

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

Examples include:

Account & contact details: name, email address, company name, role and, for clients, billing details.
Subscription & payment details: plan selection and payment-related information (handled by our payment processors, such as Stripe; we do not store full card numbers).
Design requests & project content: text briefs, images, logos, brand assets, copy, and any other materials you submit for us to work with (including through tools like ClickUp or email).
Communication: messages you send us via email, contact forms, or during onboarding and support.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit or use the Services, we may automatically collect:

Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken, referring/exit pages, timestamps, and basic interaction logs.
Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location (city/region-level), and language.

Our website sets no cookies and loads no advertising pixels; see Section 5 for exactly what it stores and measures.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

Payment processors (e.g., Stripe): payment status, limited billing details.
Project tools (e.g., ClickUp or similar platforms): task metadata, comments, and attachments you or your team submit.
Analytics provider: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits in aggregate, without cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for purposes such as:

Providing and maintaining the Services: including scoping and delivering projects, processing payments, and delivering design work.
Operating project workflows: managing requests, revisions, and communication through tools like ClickUp, email, or other project systems.
Customer support: responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and improving your experience.
Improving and developing the Services: analyzing how the Services are used, testing features, and optimizing performance.
Communications: sending transactional emails (e.g., receipts, service updates, account notices) and, where permitted, relevant announcements or product updates.
Legal and security purposes: detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or security incidents, and complying with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information with:

Service providers: third-party vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing, project management, email delivery). They may only use your data to perform services on our behalf and must protect it appropriately.
Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that process.
Legal and safety reasons: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
enforce our terms, policies, or agreements;
protect the rights, property, or safety of Alterra Studio, our users, or others.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

4. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

provide the Services,
maintain business and financial records,
resolve disputes,
enforce our agreements, and
comply with legal obligations.

You may request deletion of certain data (see Section 7), and we will act on such requests as required by applicable law and consistent with our legitimate business interests.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website sets no cookies and loads no advertising trackers. Specifically:

Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and page speed in aggregate, without cookies or cross-site tracking.
Where you came from: your own browser stores where you first arrived from (campaign tag, referring site, landing page) for 90 days in local storage. If you book a call, that line is added to your booking notes; it is not sent anywhere else. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
This visit: while you browse, your browser keeps the list of pages you viewed, how far you scrolled each one and how long you’ve been on the site (session storage, cleared when you close the tab). If you book a call, that summary is added to your booking notes. We also save it on our own Cloudflare database to see which pages work: one record per visit with a random visit ID, the referring site, your country (from Cloudflare, not your IP address) and device type. It holds no cookies, names, email addresses or IP addresses, and isn’t shared or sold.
Bookings: calls are booked through Cal.com, which handles your booking under its own privacy policy.
Auditvia (free website audit): we keep a scanned address and its scores for 24 hours so repeat checks are fast, and use your IP address only to limit how many scans can be run. To score a page, its address is checked by Google PageSpeed Insights and its text is scored by TypeSafe’s model. Nothing else is kept or sold.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials associated with your use of the Services.

7. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights such as:

access to the personal information we hold about you,
correction of inaccurate information,
deletion of certain information,
restriction or objection to certain processing,
data portability,
withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent).

You can also opt out of non-essential emails by using the “unsubscribe” link in our messages where available.

8. International Transfers

Our Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to third-party websites or integrate with third-party tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites or services you use.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
